Research & Design in Knits and Knitwear

The designs of textile designer Nanna van Blaaderen are as gentle
to the skin as they are to the environment. Her tactile sculptural
textiles with raw structures and soft textures, are interdisciplinary
and are applied in fashion, in interior and in autonomous fields.
Specialized in hand- and in machineknitting, she blends craft, natural
materials and innovation to develop textiles that integrate comfort,
elegance, quality and functionality.

Synergy design and nature

Essential elements in the work of Nanna van Blaaderen are a strong
affinity with and respect for animal life and nature. These are recurring
themes in her work.

Wool and Dutch production

Wool, such as merino wool, mohair and cashmere, is the main material in
the designs of Nanna van Blaaderen. She mainly works with merino wool
because of its refined nature and its soft, skin friendly and heat regulating
character. All designs are created and produced in the studio of
Nanna van Blaaderen and in Dutch factories.
